16 June 2012 – Airlie Beach

The little village close to the Whitsunday Islands is called Airlie Beach. It’s very nice little place to stay whit a large lagoon to swim in fresh water.

17 June 2012 – Whitsunday Island and Whiteheaven Beach

I’ve heard a lot about the Whitsunday Islands but was still in doubt to do a tour. Eventually, I took the decision to do the Ocean Rafting. And it was totally worth, a bit snorkelling, nice lunch and a wonderful beach! It was, by far, the most beautiful place in Australia, and probably the most beautiful beach of my whole trip! Too beautiful to imagine, too beautiful to describe, too beautiful to show on pictures, too beautiful to believe! Just look at the pictures and imagine that is was even more beautiful than it already looks like! Pure white sand, clear blue water and sunny weather. I’m wondering if Fiji can beat this!

And back to Brisbane with an overnight, high-speed (90 km/h) train, to catch my flight to Fiji tomorrow night.

Next stop Fijiiiiii…

PS: I’m a little bit sad to leave Australia. It was a great time, a beautiful country and definitively worth to visit again.

PPS: Since there is no internet in Paradise (I guess), I won’t be able to post anything the next 5 days.

A lot of Sand–Fraser Island

12-14 June 2012 - Fraser Roving Tour

Fraser Island is world’s largest sand island. Google it if you want to know how big it is, but I thought it’s much smaller than it was. Since I stayed in Hervey Bay a couple of days just to do the tour, I expected a lot and luckily the weather was great and 3 days/2 nights camping on the island were quite nice (“awesome” would be a little bit too much but I was worth to wait for the tour though). Enjoy the movie (2x speed) to get a feeling for driving on sand and have a look at pictures to see another beautiful place on Australia’s east coast.

15-16 June 2012 - Just another train ride

After another night in Hervey Bay, I took the train to Airlie Beach, a city close to the Whitsunday Islands. About 12 hours and “only” 2 hours delay later, I arrived in Airlie Beach…
